I own a '94 GSR and I have a Drag Gen III turbo kit on it's way. I only plan on boosting 6-7psi with the stock internals. I do, however want more boost but naturally not without reinforcing the bottom end. I wanted to know what I can expect on spending to do so. ie: lower compression pistons, stronger rods, rings, block-sleeving or blockguard, and of course labor. I live in the Maryland/Virginia area if that has any effect on the price. Thank you.

 

to make your block reliable... (pistons/rods/sleeving) u should be looking at about $3000+

 

it really depends on what components you're going to use. I know there are some sleeves that cost twice as much as some other sleeves. BTW, you can boost more then 7 on your motor, those problem isnt the bottom end it's the fuel setup. With the right amount of fuel you can run 12 psi on a stock bottom end.

 

Okay, so if I plan on boosting aroun 10-12 psi, what type of fuel setup would you recommend?

 

4 to 5 grand is about how much I spent on my motor.

 

well you might want to go with some sory of programmable AIC. you can also get away with 10 psi safely I think with some 310cc injectors and like an 8:1 FMU disk and a Bosch pump. I'm about to dyno my car on 10 psi so we'll see if it's running a little lean.
