Engine bay temperatures in relation to polyurethane
So instead of spending 275 for mounts for my turbo accord (only one guy makes them from what i've found and that is ESP), I was just going to buy new stock mounts and make my own urethane filling. I found out that most people go to McMaster-Carr so I looked into product # 8644k24. It's a 60A shore, but after curing, it's temperature range says up to 180* F. Do engine bay temperatures go higher than that? I'm talking radiant temperatures from engine/turbo parts, not the temperature with the parts themselves just to be clear. I haven't found any threads with people having problems, but I wanted to make sure. Thanks guys.
Turbo engine bays can reach that temp. Mine has been as high as 285*F but that certainly isnt normal. <100* is stock range. So Id expect an average turbo setup to be in the 150-200* range. Obviously some improved airflow and venting will cut that down significantly.
However I dont think you would have any issues given that the mounts are further away from the heat and low in the engine bay.

ok sounds good to me. I figured it would be fine but i wanted to double check just to make sure. my plan was to get mounts from the junkyard so that I wouldn't be without a car for a week. as long as there aren't cracks, i should be fine correct? or should i just go buy new ones off ebay for $100?
