Ok so my H23 now has over 210k miles on it and I've finally got the money to do something about it. I want to buy a JDM motor, go all forged internals and slap a turbo on it. The only part I'm struggling with is, H22, H23, or H23 vtec. I'm looking for the most HP per lb of boost while still keeping stellar reliability. Tall order I know, but I figure if it's done right, it can be fulfilled. Would the H23 trump the H22 simply because of a shorter stroke and lower compression? I'm sure you guys get where all this is going, any feed-back, suggestions, criticism or anything, whatever, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,

send your block off and sleeve it, then put an h22 head on it. Get good rods,pistons, and boost away

 

Agreed. After more research, found the the H23 to be superior for turbo application. Tranny, low comp, long stroke = win?

 

btw are you suggesting the H22 head for an H23 vtec set up? or is there some other point to using an h22 head on an h23 block for turbo?
