EM1 turbo desicion..
i got a MR 00 civic si and did a jdm b16a motor swap after I hydrolocked my first motor. I just bought a inline pro turbo kit and i did so much god damn research and time, i eventually ended getting this kit with a garrett 60 trim turbo and inline pro everything else. Im planning on using a hondata s300 with a p28 or p30 set up for my whip. I did so much research and after explaining this to my bro, who drives a s13 silvia with a sr20 swap, he still ****ing says im going to blow my motor. wut a dick. I think he's just jealous that im going to womp em when i go turbo. what do u guys think? should i go and put that **** on or stay N/A??
the thing is i dont have money to build my motor so i gotta keep it stock internals and run 8psi cuz thats wut my wg is set to.
i am also going to get some arp head studs.
stay NA or go turbo???
help me out

boost it.. i would goto at least 10psi.. even tho you gate is less, you get a electric boost controller to engage the WG at whatever pressure u set.
I would go Neptune over the S300 for savings and just about the same settings.
But the B16 really shines on boost! boost it, tune it and walk ur buddy.

Re: EM1 turbo desicion..
build the bottom end then boost i would not want to have to buy another block again, but if you cant afford it be careful and get a tune. in my opinion it is better to wait and do it right the first time around ive been there with my em1.
what type of power goals do you have in mind?
what do you have so far injectors, pmp, fpr ?/ might not be needed for your goals but if your trying to spank a sr20 go for it.

lol, walk him.. riiight.
my buddy had a built em1, sc34, 12psi..
with a mild sr20, t25 14psi, fmic, full exhaust, tune... I walked my buddy by about 2 bus lengths on the highway.
anyways, with the proper tuning your motor will be fine.

Re: EM1 turbo desicion..
well it depends if you wanna sleeve or not thats a little on the pricey.
to get my a2 sleeved by darton it was around a grand.
why don't you just buy forged internals, rods, pistons, hone then slap them in with all new oem gaskets and bearings around a grand too. if you do it your self.
sorry i have ran a few sr20's, one particular supposed 485whp and they NEVER had been close dnt get me wrong there are plenty out there that could fly by me im sure but most nissan guys are gay jk..
but that's with 1k id's, dual walbros, 35r.82 on e85 19lbs

We are not asking the right questions here. What do you want to accomplish with the car?I mean are you just planning on keeping it at 8 psi or are you the type to use a boost controller and keep trying to squeeze more power out of the car?You have to figure out where you want the car to be when you are done then build it to get there.

let see.. how do i answer this.. if u read my first post, i dont got money to build my motor. i mean im sure i can do it with a few of my buddies that know more how to do things on a car physically. But a grand just for the parts n ****. I'm good on that. my power goals are about 300 whp. u think i can get that done with the right fuel system fpr fr injecors and fuel pump.? also note that i got a brand new garrett 60 trim.

Re: EM1 turbo desicion..
you dont need the fpr injectors and fuel pump is all you need. There is nothing wrong with 300 whp on a stock b16 I have been doing it for 3+ years along with thousands of other guys. Find a good tuner tell them your goals and let them decide whats safe for your car.
