Electronic or MBC?????
I have a d16y8 with the edelbrock kit. Currently I'm running 7psi. After getting a new fuel pump I'm wanting to run 9psi. It has an internal wastegate. I want a good boost controller that will have no boost spike. I already tried one of those DIY boost controllers, but it did't hold boost for ****. Please help me out and share experiences. Thanx alot guys.

Re: (jazz215)
For a basic low boost setup, EBC are overkill Imo, especially price wise. Ive never looked into them alot but Ive alwasy noticed people have problems with the ProfecB. I'm happy with my Turboxs manual, although if I was to take thing s ot the next level I would look into a gear dependant EBC.
It's all about preference and how much $ you got spend.

I've literally had hundreds of cars with boost problems here at the shop, since that's all we do are boosted cars and I would 100% say MBC.. Also I have seen TONS and TONS of homemade boost controlers that don't work for crap. I would suggest to not make your own homemade one. Buy one that is known to work well.. I have also seen problems with TurboXS MBCs.. as far as boost wise, MBCs are good for ALL boost levels.. we use our XBC(Extreme Technologies Boost Controller) on all of our street cars (civic, evo, wrx, dsms) as well as our two 8 second race cars.. http://www.extrememotorsports.com/g2cat/boost.htm also numerous times on the dyno we have ONLY swapped boost controllers to ours and the car made boost quicker and faster as plotted on dyno graphs.
