Electrical and Mechanical Gauges? Difference?

Electrical and Mechanical Gauges? Difference?
I'm searching for a boost and fuel/air gauge on OptionsAuto.com, and they're saying that I can get either the mechanical or Electrical gauges. What's the difference?
Or does anyone know where I can purchase these gauges even cheaper? I think I'm probably going to buy the Autometer carbon fiber gauges.

electrical guages use a sensor in the engine bay then send an electrical current to the guage which interpets the current and displays.
mechanical guages send the actual fliud (ie oil for oil pressure) to the guage which then interpets and displays.

I would personally go with the electrical gauges for anything like a/f, water temp, oil pressure, basically the only mechanical gauge you should have is boost.

get the electric guages. If one of the hoses for your mechanical guages get crimped you will get an inacurate reading. AND, there is not much room to run hoses into the cabin. Electrical guages all you have to do is run a wire. Check out the defi link guages or the new apexi link guages.

Okay, so I'm going to buy all electrical gauges, but, should I get a electrical or mechanical gauge for the boost?
