Re: Electric intercooler?!?!?!?! (Hella_JDM)
after reading the description:
kinda sucks that it has can only last for 35 to 45 secs at a time. interesting feature though. almost like a shot of nos every now and then.
looks more like for the drag racer crowd since it doesnt work all the time.
any engineering gurus wanna chime in?

Re: Electric intercooler?!?!?!?! (psileepR)
Sounds like a peltier cooler. The down side is it would probably take 40-50 amps at 12v to do any good.
Another thing, if it is indeed a peltier cooler, what the hell is it doing with all of the heat? It has to go somewhere.

Yes its a Peltier cooler the disadvantage is that it has one extreme cold side and one hot side !! so it produces lots of heat !! so you have to lose the heat it produces too.
i have used this sort of cooling a long time back to cool my PC's CPU. one side on the CPU the other side watercooled to cool the hot side down.

I used a Peltier on my overclocked CPU. It would work but you'd have to slap on a big heatsink on the hot side
