Default egycasper's 12.0:1 300whp PTE6362 B18C build thread

my build is
straight k24a
fully build ported head with DC 004 camshaft
12.0:1CR
300whp
will use 6262 8282AR PRECISION TURBO
Boost will be max 8psi
methanol tuning
any advice ...I know DC 004 is too much for turbo application that why I am taking advices.

Use the longest manifold you can find on the lowest restriction turbo.
Not just for the 12:1 compression, but for the huge cams.
If you can find a true twin scroll turbo on a divided manifold it will help on the mid rpm cross cylinder contamination.
Id would sell the cams

So stock k20 camshaft would be better than DC004 in this setup!

Much better unless you go for 0.5 0.6 bar on s372 with BIG a twin scroll housing / manifold.
That 0.5 0.6 bar on that engine on that turbo WILL deliver. Maybe 400whp. But full boost at 6500

300whp...You dont need a ported head or cams or 12:1 or methanol or something nearly as big as a 6262

Why in good graces such a large turbo? That makes no sense at all for such power. A stock Kia would out accelerate you

Maybe the OP was stating that the NA engine set-up was ALREADY making 300 wheel HP ???

I see you've missed my point. You're looking at this from a peak power perspective. Not in a utility or practical perspective.

It makes no sense to use something this large for this goal. It's your choice of course, but you're asking or asking our input, and we're simply saying this isn't a good idea

Look Mac an engine so strong all motor with the best matching turbo setup doesn't lose so much power once you install the turbo kit
It's still superfast even before the boost comes.
-15psi to 0 psi is much faster on a long runner big lever turbine wheel from - 15 to 0 psi on a log with a small turbo. The problem with the big setup is that full boost will come 1-2-3000 later but on a strong all motor engine you don't need that boost to be fast anyway until 80mph+

Oh boy here we go

I would also advise going with a smaller turbo if the 6262 hasn't already been purchased.

Smaller turbo with removing the all motor cams will work too.
Id get a long divided mani a .91 T4 divided s362 thT with the crazy cams he has now on , for him to manage to keep that all motor power he has now.
That K24 will spool the s362sxe like a b18c will spool the 3076

for what its worth this is from last years results on an 8th si. stock block, blueprint stage2 cams, supertech valvetrain, zdx throttle body, and a go autoworks ramhorn kit with a tga 6162 turbo

I need to seriously come over there and have a harmless contest. Two builds, a fixed budget and a our own designs. We love you , man, but brother, you do over complicate things. Ya do..

I know i know. Im a stubborn ****. Fixed budget contest i like. Big distance no.Love ya all. By they way once my dam engine finishes it itches me to try , just to try, adding another one td05 for the twin twin scroll noone tried . So yes i probably like complicating things.

Thats very cool. Id like to see another version of this with a divided sidewinder and a real twin scroll housing. For the exhaust gas reversion theory

Meh. I feel like the whole torque curve could shift 2000 rpm earlier without losing anything up top with some simple changes

that run was from 10 or 12psi. honestly, the k series world is still pretty new to me. i just know its pretty linear like on the kraftwerks setup that was previously on there.

we were honestly thinkin a 5857mm would be to small for his setup. he decided to opt for a 6162. then for ***** and giggles we could back to back runs with my 6157 and 5857.

The exhaust wheels are the same, which really are the power-creator portions of the turbo. Three compressor wheel would help in the top-end but not much. Just a couple more psi of pressure from the 5857, and you'd have a very solid setup over the 6157, even on a k-series. TURBOS LIKE BOOST PRESSURE

I dont know anything about those cams but I do know you certainly dont need them for that much power. Could be hurting more then helping.

All I can say is, my buddies 6266 K20A2 setup (just pistons and rods) was making torque a lot earlier in the power band so Im surprised to see it peaking so late on this one.

His WG may crack open too soon.
Cross cylinder contamination or exhaust gas reversion if you like it more.
Typical ramhorn has 3x90 degree turns per cylinder and the setup does not divide the gases of close cylinders.

I think it's a matter of boost control even more than the primaries or design for that size turbocharger.
