i just got my egt installed today, they put the probe on the down pipe. i was cruising around today and noticed at wot i was between 1100f - 1200f, is that normal?? what is the danger point?? i've tried searching, but most have probe on manifold, how much of a difference in temp does putting on downpipe have from being on the manifold??

 

i read once that it was like 400-500 degrees off when in the downpipe. i couldn't tell you tho, mines in the header, and doesn't go over 1300 at wot....in 4th gear going 114.

you ask what this has to do with F.I? i just got the 75 shot on. have yet to use it tho. have no idea what temps will be then.
