EGT placement
well, i bought the car and i already had an EGT sensor just before the cat. its an autometer, and it seems to run sorta on the hot side IMO.
im just wondering if placement can make a big diffrence on your gauge readings, im sure it would. but this probe is right before the cat and im getting temps of 1100 with freeway driving. i am sorta concerned that this is high, although the car is JRSc and built <pistons, rods, head>

placement does matter allot. you want it in the hottest runner usually, that way you know that if your hottest cumbustion chamber is running well, then the rest should be allright. Typically on a honda the #3 runner is the hottest. Some will argue and say its better to get a cumulative reading by placing it in the down pipe, so its really up to you. For me, I am thinking about placing my probe in the old wastegate flapper hole in the downpipe (some one knows what im talking about) I have seen it done a few times, Dustin had it on his integra when it was turbo, and had no problems frome what I know of.

yeah, we all know that much,
but would placing it in the downpipe to get a collective mesurment make the numbers any diffrent than if it were in just the #3 runner?
like i said, im just trying to not be as worried from driving it around with 1100-1150 temps on the freeway.
