Default EGT Installation

I have been reading over all the EGT posts and I want to go over installtion with pictures. I am going to take the manifold to get the bung installed for the Probe, but I want to be absolutely sure I am getting it in the right place. I just signed up for photopoint, so I hope these pics come out. This is an H22A by the way.

Here is the Manifold with the bung sitting on the exhaust tube, do I have the right cylinder, and what about placement of the bung, does that look right?

After the bung is welded, the probe goes onto the connector like this?

Then the connector with probe is installed like this.

Any help on this is appreciated, thanks!

the cylinder isnt as important as distance from the port. I believe somewhere along the lines of within an inch of the port is where it needs to be.

I don't have it installed yet, and I was hoping the pictures would work, but guess what. I can't seem to post an image that works on this site. Here is what I had laid out. I was going to have the bung installed on the #1 cylinder exhaust, about 3/4 to 1 inch from the flang that connects with the head. This bung is threaded, so the probe goes into a compression fitting and sticks out just a little bit from the threaded fitting that goes into the bung, with me, because I think I might have lost myself!

The only other thing that comes to mind is this, why would I have to use the provided bung if I could just get the exhaust manifold drilled and tapped?

i think the reason is cause the bung welded in place is a little more reliable, btw why put the egt by the no.1 cyl wouldnt the readings be more accurate if you put tht egt sensor close to the middle of all four cyls??
