EGT gauge placement issue?
The probe for my autometer egt guage is too long to fit in the runner of my hf manifold. Do I just have to weld a bung on to the manifold for it to work or is there something I am missing? People keep on telling me it is not wise to weld to cast. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

It should have came with a little fitting to go in there. You drill and tap the manifold and screw the fitting in and the probe goes in there then you tighten the probe down. Look on ebay for egt guages and in the pic you will be able to see the fitting.

Yeah, I understand that is what you normally do, but the problem is that the probe is longer than the diameter of the runner.
