it is roughly the same turbo from the gn, they ran out of breath on them at 20 psi, with a water to air, i ran mine to 30-32 psi, but that was asking ALOT.
GM desinged the gn to run about 1 bar over atmosphere. so i would think 14-17 psi would be the sweet spot.
i am really tired and could be 100% wrong, but the exp of 30-32 was true.

Re: t3 (boostedcivicsir)
The GB turbo was a little different in terms of the housing, but the compressor it uses can do 20psi before it starts lossing efficiency badly. 19psi is the sweet spot, but thats assuming 19psi at the turbo's outlet.

Not really, GN's got a T04B compressor; only factory T3/T04 hybrid made.

i stand corrected then,
i was always told they were straight t3's.

Re: t3 (boostedcivicsir)
I had one of those T-Bird Turbo Coupes (an early, non-intercooled one, so maybe they upgraded the turbo when they went to the later versions) and that turbo was the most pathetic piece of crap I've ever experienced. Clearly it didn't push any kind of volume. There was a nice surge, and then it fell right on its face. . . Garbage!

If thats a t04b compressor, its a really sad one. REALLY sad compressor. It states the stocker was 390cfm, and a tiny 50trim T3 is maxed at 395cfm at ~16 psi. Maybe the GNX, but not the 'vanilla' GN. Even if under-rated, 245bhp would be ~210 at the wheels with a Honda trans, and we know a t3 60trim can do way more than 210whp at just 7psi.
JD, I'm calling you out. Seriously though, I'd like to see your info. Pulling apart one car and finding thinking an upgraded stock turbo doesn't count
