effective compression ratio

Default effective compression ratio

What is the ideal effective compression ratio. In theory wouldnt you not want to go higher than 12.7? How is it that people boost their stock bseries to 15+ effective compression without damaging components? I know this is theory so I just want someone to explain this to me.

actually there is huge amounts of info about this subject. Just use the search engine and click on Archived content. Just put the key words your looking for and hundereds of threads will pop up.
As for your question, there is an ideal compression ratio for all different engine setups. search and you shall recieve..
