I'm building my ls vtec turbo I really wanted to drop it in a ef Si hatch but couple of my friends are telling me don't mess with the ef because im going to need extra stuff like traction bars and Clearance is going to be issues. This is going to be more of a track car, and drive once in a blue moon in the street so I don't know which she'll to go with
your freind is a retard. jk
I would pick the lightest chassis.
If your seriosly going to track a turbo civic your going to want a 3" dp and traction bar regardless if you go with ef or eg.
I have a turbo ef & I drag & road race the car.
So far the only thing I don't like about the EF is that with the traction bar I'm not able to run a larger ATI or fluidampr race pulley without modification to my driver side traction arm. No biggy.

To be honest I've Owned a turbo Ef and it was a awesome chassis. I now own a turbo ls vtec eg coupe and the engine space is Beyond awesome. The chassis is simple plug and at being its already obd1. It's easy To convert the Ef but from personal experience I love my eg. So much room to work and trouble shoot crap. I don't need a damn traction bar etc etc. I could go on on and on but u catch my drift. Again I loved my Ef but eg wins for me in my book.

The biggest difference is going to be the amount of space you will have in the engine bay with a B-series. Definitely more space in an EG bay, but nothing a little creativity and ingenuity won't solve with an EF.

You do have clearance issues with most turbo manifolds in a b series ef... traction bars are a good upgrade for any car

I love the coups i have one its fast, but if I were to build a tracker i would do the ef just pull out the BFH and go to town on the fire wall and your good best of luck to u.
I'd either go with a InlinePro SS or a good, high quality mini-ram style manifold. Fitment wise, those would probably be your best bet.
I've been building a Z6 turbo in my 90 si, and with a sohc everything is tight but manageble with persuasion.
I suggest a full race traction bar, to make some free room.
not alot of room just so you know...
