ecu test
i'm not sure if this belongs here or not but i picked up a p28 for free from honda. it's used and been sitting on a shelf. they pulled it from a car but they didnt' know the history of it. i'm only looking to sell it but i'm reluctant because i don't know if it actually works. how do i test the ecu? i'm gonna try to stop by honda to see if maybe they can test it but with my work schedule, it's hard to make it there on time before they close. please help. thanks.
Plug the ecu into a obd1 car or a car with a obd1 conversion harness. Turn the ignition onto the acc. position, if the mil turns on then turns off, the ecu is working properly.
If the mil turns on and stays on & the mil stays solid while jumping the 2 wire srs connector the ecu is malfunctioning.
