obd2b to obd1 problem, need help!
ok i recently got my jumper harness from
http://www.boomslang.us for my obd conversion. i plug it in and it works fine. everything runs good and it cranks right up.
however when i turn on the a/c, the clutch does not engage. i get no cold air and the rpm's raise to anticipate the extra load but the compressor does not turn on.
i have checked all the wiring on the harness and everyhitng seems to be ok. the obd2b acc and acs wires are lined up with the obd1 pins on the connector and ecu, but it still doesnt work.
when i plug my obd2 ecu the a/c turns on and runs perfectly. i just throw a code b/c of my test pipe.
i am going to try another ecu but i find it hard to belive that that tiny part of the ecu will go out.
i opened up the obd1 ecu and looked it over. nothin was disconnected or no black spots on the ecu anywhere. the ecu is no chipped and seems to be absolutely fine except fr the a/c problem.
any help will be greatly appreciated.

Recently, a couple of people have asked me if certain p28's cause the ac to work or not work. Out of the past 4 years of chipping p28's, this has only been brought to my attention 3 times. Most likely, its the ecu...the ecu may work perfectly fine, but your ac may not work with the ecu. Dont ask me why..i havent looked into yet
thats odd. but im running a p72 and am having this problem. i have also heard of them hapening on a p75 too. so im lost.
i'll try the new ecu in a few days when my friend gets back in town. and see if that fixes the problem.

ok i talked to my friend today. and he said the reason it doesnt work is b/c obd2 compressor runs off of 2 switches: a high pressure and a low pressure, and obd1 runs off of just the high pressure. so his solution is to swap out compressors and re do the wiring. i am gonna try this this weekend and will update. hopefully it works. and please correct me/him if we are wrong, i dont wanna have to go through another headache unless i have to.
well an update: i plugged in an obd1 p06 ecu tonite and turned the a/c on, sure enough it clicked on and blew cold *** a/c. so i guess its an ecu problem.... back to the drawing board.
