Default ECU swap to OBD1 - problem with key transponder?

My original 2000 GSR has key-code in it cause it's OBD2b. If I swap to OBD1 for uberdata, what will happen to my key-code system? Will it simply not functioning (meaning i don't have protection, but everything will work ok)?

Since it's in the ecu... if you swap out the ecu you no longer have "protection" but the car drives fine.
