i'm thinking of greddy profec a, but i'm not sure, what the major differences between the a and b

my buddy has a apexi avc-r, i think after he learned how to use it, it was simple, but looked to complicated for me..

What do you guys suggest?

 

I personally like the Blitz SBC-iD

 

I like the profec b with remote switching.

 

Love my AVC-R!

 

I also LOVE my AVC-R. I have nothing but positive things to say about it.

 

I've always heard good things about the Blitz, but they are quite a bit more than the Apexi(second choice).

 

the main problem with the avc-r is where to mount that huge thing, i've seen some pretty cool mounting places, but i think, i'll be better off with something smaller.

how did you mount it up above the mirror, that looks great. I had my old vafc where you avcr is, and i hated it, especially if i went to mcdonalds or something, i'm also one of those people that always has to have a drink nearby.

If you can give me some tips in mounting the avc-r above the mirror i may look into it more,

but i can get a profec b for just under 300$ or a profec A for just over 400$.

I've seen the Apex boxes mounted where the clock is before....not sure how they did it though.

 

Yea if you could kinda explain how you mounted the AVC-R up there like that I'd apprieciate it too, I have mind right ontop of the dash because I need to have it in my sight, but it's also in sight of everybody who looks at my car, kidna makes it inviting to theft.

 

i wouldnt get the profec a. get the profec b. avcr is cool... but its too difficult to use.

 

My AFC and AVC-R are mounted in the passenger side airbag

 

hehehe....that's going to be really comfortable for the passenger in a wreck.

 

I like the Blitz SBC-iD also. But, if you don't need all the features of that one, then a Blitz DSBC or SSBC would do just fine at much lower prices. And they all have pretty small control units.

 

Anybody have any pics of a SBC-ID installed? I've been looking at them, but can't get a good sense of size and whatnot... all the pictures are small and uninstalled.

 

the thing is tiny! It's smaller than my nokia 8290 cell phone....very stubby. I don't have mine in yet, but I plan to mount it right behind the shifter, before the scoop for the e-brake. I took all the measurements and it will easily fit there. Take a look at this space...it will give you an idea of how small it is. The measurements are 86mm(W) x 45mm (H) x 14mm (D)....

I run a PRofec B on my Sentra. The only problem I have had is when I have taken it to 20 psi! It will only allow you to boost up to 1.5 times whatever your wastgate is set at! I have a 13 psi spring so I can only take it to 21 psi! The PRofec A is fuzzy logic; stay away fom Fuzzy logic! The AVC-R is also fuzzy logic, but some people have had great results from them!

 

I like the Apexi AVC-R....looks damn good and gets the job done.

 

why stay away from fuzzy logic boost controllers?

If you want very detailed control, AVC-R, if you just wanna set-and-forget, Profec.
