Default is this an ebay turbo setup and what should i do about my wastegate dump?

ok this turbo setup was in my car when i got it and i was wondering if its an ebay turbo kit or not. also my wastegate dump has no tube on it at all. it just vents out of the outlet hole into the engine compartment. what should i do to this, should it be connected to the down pipe or can i have an external dump coming out of the side of the car?

Oh yeah. "SSautochrome" springs to mind. Those don't usually come with those. You can can one and install it easy. Surprised that manifold hasn't cracked yet. Might want to put a filter on the cold side of that POS turbo.

I didn't say it was them definitely. Let's put it this way, I wouldn't put an an Ebay turbo kit on a $500 beater even if I had 3 others cars to drive when it blew up. Ebay kits are a crap shoot. Maybe you lucked out and got one that wasn't junk. What size turbo is on it?

I read an S2000 owner used an ebay one and it blew up, the turbo blades broke into pieces.

no clue. like i said it came on the car. but its got all name brand parts so expense wasnt spared thats why i wouldnt expect them to go and put an ebay turbo on it. all i can see is the part that is attached to the manifold says air .63. cant find any markings on the turbo

I don't see names on anything. They all look like knock-offs.

1k isn't anything. Some people can put 1k on in a week. That's not a good yardstick to measure reliability.

As far as your downpipe, you'll need to to match the turbo and clear whatever is in your engine bay.

That is def a knock off ebay turbo kit i dont care who told u it wasnt. i hope that turbo is running a oil restrictor or the seals wont last long. as for a the dump it needs to be ran outside the engine bay or u will have black fuel smoke going straight through that cheap turbo inlet. i seen a guy run his with no dump this way and wondered why it ran like shyt. it always sounds best if u reroute the dump back into the exhaust.

intercoolers and piping from ebay are ok though seeing as they dont have to implement any moving parts or extremely hot temps

i would say you should replace all the other parts with name brand ones though

Ebay turbos work UNTIL you boost em past 10 psi ish then they blow. They are good for a mild setup. That's it

please tell me your not serious? lol

ebay turbos are a GIANT blind guess (you may get a winner out of the bunch but its rare)... there have been people take em apart and find the fins reversed, glued together, bent and broken and thats just getting started with just the fins!

Not to be insulting but every word in this statement just shows your ignorance and how cheap you are.

JDM Sport is just a one-stop shop for cheap knock-off parts. Just because they stamp their name on them doesn't make them quality.
