Ebay Turbo
the saying you get what you pay for says alot about ebay turbo kits. Some people have success with them, while others have nightmares.
If your strapped for cash you shouldnt be boosting. Everything becomes more expensive. You need to change your oil more often, get 93 octane, and more of it. your motor will be more stressed out and chances are it wont last as long as it would if you leave it stock, I feel its inevitable that you will be tearing it down doing a rebuild.
Dont forget that you -have- to get the car tuned and thats not cheap. If you take it to suja one in carol stream they will do an amazing job, but it will run you almost 600 bucks if you run ec-tune. you will also need to chip your ecu so you can get tuned.
the best suggestion if you gonna cheap out, at least throw the bov and wastegate away you get with the ebay kit and grab a tial wastegate, and bov off a 1g eclipse. the turbo will most likely blow its seals they are real garbo. so expect to be dropping acouple hundred bucks on a new one or trying to rebuild the chingchong with good internals. either way, your nickle and diming yourself and I find its better to to do it right the first time and not have to worry about it again, save up your cash and get something good.

From what everyone says, it's hit and miss. Here are some threads that have some good feedback on personal experiences with them. Read through these and you should be able to put together an opinion on them. IMO, just piece together a kit and do it right the first time.

Just slowly piece together a good solid turbo kit and you will have no problems and it will be very moderately priced.
Heres a start.

That you even mentioned a no-name Ebay kit tells me loads. Nothing anyone here will tell you will convince you NOT to get the kit. I can hear it now. "But I'll only be at a low boost level so it should be safe". These kits are a crapshoot and I can bet that you'll probably get the cheapest one you can find that you think is somehow still good quality.
