I know I know I'm in for some flaming, nOOb this nOOb that. Really though, does anyone actually own an Ebay kit? Can I get some personal feedbacks on them? Someone who actually owns or onced owned an Ebay kit? I've done some searching and the pro's and con's are well its all about how much you're willing to spend. So is it the best bang for you buck, did things actually work out, details on your setup please? Pics if possible.

more like searched ebay for hours.
I have had plenty of personal experience with these kits.
First one I did.. wastegate elbow fell off, but the turbo lated a good while.
Second one, the turbo would not build boost, and ended up having a bad compressor housing.
Third one, the turbo smoked in about 3 hours after start up and tuning. And it did have an oil restrictor.
None of these were my cars, just kits that I either tuned or installed.
I know of 1 that has actually lasted a decent while, and that was just the turbo that was purchased off ebay.

Personally, from the ones I have seen they are junk. Reliabilty and quality is paramount. At least to us and the majority of our customers anyways.

Seriously, if you searched for hours and didn't find anything, I am led to believe you wake up in the morning and helplessly **** and **** yourself.
Some of the stuff in the kit is fine to use, some of it is total junk, and it can and will be argued back and forth for several pages.
Lets not beat a dead horse here.

On my first set-up I ran the rev-hard kit off of ebay. Everything was brand name and worked great. Dont think I would even try those ssautocrome and xspower kits. Get what u pay for.

Actually I did search for hours, and call me a noob all you want. I'm only a noob based on because I just registered on HT, Doesn't mean I'm a noob outside of HT (if that makes any sence) I know what I'm asking and I know what I'm talking about. I was just asking for personal feedback, Somebody who actually had luck with an ebay or if the kit failed on them. Honestly I was thinking about picking up an ebay kit, but received a phone call about 10mins ago regarding a local shop that has a kit for sale so I'm picking up a kit from them, hand picked and pieced the kit themselves and have a pretty good reputation doing so and nothing but good feedbacks on their tuning, oh and don't come at me and start talking like I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. Sure I'm not a turbo genius, but all I did was ask a question and all I expected back was some honest answers and feedbacks. Is all this flaming and **** talking necessary? Is this a how you guys welcome a new HT member or should I say NOOB?. Thanks to all others that actually took my question into consideration and gave me answers.

i have a an ebay turbo and manifold. the manifold is trash fixing to get rid of it due to cracking but havent had problems with the turbo. i heard there was a bad batch that got out and gave the ebay turbos a bad name i have a couple of friends running ebay turbos with no problems going on over a year of use

If you really really want one and cant afford a real turbo kit, or anything real, go ahead a buy it for a season. It should make it.
Heres a trick though, I have a few guys who buy these turbos, buy a real garrett rebuild kit, have the turbo rebuilt when it arrives to their door, and run 400whp on them for 2 - 3 seasons np.
the rest of the gear is still a writeoff.

some of the kits aren't that bad. Some of the cheap ebay turbos last a good while for the prices some ppl are asking for them. I mean...for like less than 200 you can get a t3t4 with and oil line. if going with the cheap ebay turbos...however...i would focus on other decent quality parts...like a decent turbo manifold so you won't have to replace it cuz it cracked on you in like 2 weeks.
All the piping and the intercoolers aren't that bad either for the price but i would definitelty invest in a decent mani.
I, however, will stick with my GT35R
