Ebay turbo...
I searched this already but I wanted to see if anyone had any recent particular experience buying from this guy or had any feedback that might be useful
It's not a 'ebay brand turbo'. It says it's for a Garrett....

xs power = ssautoshit = stone mountain racing = "ebay" brand turbo
all their **** has Garrett in the title, sorry
I hate how they clutter up ebay when I'm looking for real ****
Edit... I've read very bad things ex. (chinese made;glued together, failed seals, etc) and a couple good things about them, to me its not worth it. I'm saving up even if I have to buy used its better then ssac.

cool, its $300 cheaper than the next competitor so I was thinking with common sense....I was just hoping common sense was wrong : )
i dont like ebay car stuff.. its soo sketchy... doesn't matter if its HKS or greddy... unless you see it in person first.. i wouldn't dare buy from there. I read his feedback.. it looks alright... but personally i reather spend a few extra hundred bucks and grab everything myself locally or from a known dealer.
I was recently in Japan and then hong kong and china... you will not believe how good they are at copying things... i couldn't even tell until my cousin told me.
Good luck

haha yeah, i actually just cleaned my intercooler and charge piping today, there were chunks of the compressor wheel in the IC after the main shaft snapped. its pretty funny, but it sucks i actually paid money for it. haha.
I bought that turbo. It never actually made boost though. After it spooled a few times the seals blew out. I got it rebuilt and the only thing worth saving was the exhaust housing. Big waste of money. Suprisingly the wg still works perfectly.
Bought my entire turbo kit from a turbonetics dealer on ebay. The kit on their site is 3500~ or so. Bought it on ebay for 2956. Kit looks great, real turbonetics charger and a FAT fmic.
It's a risk for sure but I wouldnt put it on your car if you didnt feel good about it.

I don't want this to explode into a flame fest, but this is the main reason why everyone hates ebay/ssac/stone mt. racing/etc. They just read, without any real experience around the product. Don't get me wrong, they sell some pure **** on ebay, but alot of it is just hear-say bullshit.
It's just like that dumbass that installed his omni-power camber plates upside down and made a thread when they broke. People do stupid things with the stuff that they buy, and then they try to say it was a product fault. The picture circulating the internet of an SSAC turbo compressor housing that is cracked in half clearly exposing glue, is the result of the guy dropping the turbo. In no way does that justify the glue, but if you drop a turbo from waist high, there is a very good chance that something is going to break.
no offense to the guy I quoted, I was just using an example.

What spun 270 degrees? Elaborate..
How about this..I'm friends with a guy who has used both an SSAC Super T70 and an SSAC TO4E .63/.84 on a few different setups and didn't have an issue with either one.

Well my experience with SSAC/xspower was one completely brand new, yet garbage turbo, a wg which still works fine (boosted 7psi for 6 months) and manifold I additionally ported and braced which, also works just fine. Still, I am replacing those items just for the peace of mind. If you think the discount is worth the risk then go for it.

No offence taken, if I could find it there is a site where a guy did a 10k test on one of thier kits and had really no problems.
User error probably has alot to do w/ thier rep
I like to pay for peace of mind on my DD, if it wasn't my only car I might give them a shot.....?

If I read of more than 1 person having the most awful experience with a product, it tells me I don't need to waste my money on it. This is even more true when the product(s) in question are known to be cheap knockoffs.
Saving money is awesome, but if it comes with even the smallest chance the product is going to decentigrate... then count me out.

Yeah, but thats what I'm talking about.
Would you rather read 10 stories of people who have actually owned and used the product, or would you rather read 1 story of someone who has actually used it, and 9 other honda-tech ******** that just say bad things about the product because everyone else does?

You're definitely right about the "i knew a guy" or "my buddy" reviews.
It's up to each individual what they take into consideration. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who aren't bright enough to consider the source.

This is the link I was talking about earlier using a ssac kit w/ a xs power turbo, the few problems he had don't seem too bad, considering how little these kits go for.
O.K. I'm done trying to tell myself ssac really isnt that bad
