If you have the money for a built and sleeved GSR, why would you buy an Ebay turbo. This is another one of those setups that cries

Some of the T3/T04E chinese turbos seem to hold together alright at sub-300 whp levels, but most fall apart within 500 miles when you turn the boost up. They start puking oil, etc. Some rare individuals have good luck and get 350-450 out of them, but I've never had that sort of luck with the cars I've tuned that had them.

And those are the good chinese turbos.

The Not So Super T70 is a K26/27 semi-knockoff, poorly implemented, 90% of them fail at any power level within the first 500 miles. Last guy locally who bothered with the things had two compressor nuts on two turbos come off while on the dyno and never so much as got to complete the tune much less enjoy and drive the car. He bought a 60-1 and is very happy now. Hint hint.

QFT

Rather than having to worry about whether or not your turbo is going to fail, spend the extra money on a good turbo. I know how much i hate fixing ****...and i'll spend the extra money to avoid having to...

It occurs to me that calling them Not So Super T70 is being too nice, and my desire to be PC might go awry and accidentally mislead someone into trying one, and thereby make them very sad.

From here on out the ebay Super T70 will be called the I Got Mugged And Violently Assraped In A Dark Alley T70.

LMAO...from here on out, anyone not calling it by its true name (above) will be banned forever. The Ebay T70 has worked hard for its new nickname.

Not when it comes to turbos. I've stated for years that the chinese turbos are sucky, that there is no such thing as a good used turbo, etc.

On a completely unrelated note, my daughter has apparently stolen your tshirt from me for all eternity, she uses it as a nightie. Go figure, she claims she hates cars.

i bought one of those t70's and was going to use it on my h22 but decide i didn't want to buy parts twice. so instead of selling it i have found other uses for it. it's a great door stop, a paper weight, if you have a shop vac it will slice and dice, its a great safety device.

honstley i figured rather than just throw the thing away i'm going to put it on my old 4x4 and if i get one good day out of it it will be worth it. the complet build will cost me under 500$ and that is pricless to make grown men laugh like school girls.

i built my car over the course of the last year and got tired of looking at it in the garage so i bought the twisted ram manifold and the "I Got Mugged And Violently Assraped In A Dark Alley T70" just to get the car on the road and get it to the track in 07' (wife just had a baby and lets just say my car budget was cut short) so until i can afford to upgrade to something nicer (BW Bullseye lol) then it is what it is. been running at 15psi since september and no hickups. i had major axle problems the 3 times i went to the track, and the one half *** run i made, i had a 2.6 60' on slicks (major bog) and still went 121 in a 2700lb integra...so i would say its making the power it should. anyways...

So I'm assuming you have at least $300 saved up to pay for the tuning? If you are going to more than triple the stock output on a motor, you better have a helluva bigger budget than you have now. If you can't afford a good turbo, what if your tranny takes a ****? Axles snap in 3? What if your 't70' blows its load (oil) into your intake mani at 500whp and leads to a melted piston??

To answer those questions, YOU ARE expletiveED without a bigger budget. Your motor will be as powerful as your weakest link, and a blown, oil-puking turbo means it will be weaker than a stock USDM motor.

BTW to answer your original questions - yes it needs a restrictor, and I recall a DA teg that used this turbo. Lagged to all hell, but supposedly could beat stock mustangs.

ive used the XS 57 trim t3t4's on my last 2 setups.. i use a restrictor and they are fine.. i out alot of daily driven miles on them too. if u can afford it go with the brand name garret or whatever but most of the ebay stuff will work if its properly installed. and if u get a bad one they will replace it but it takes a while

when i got mine, i took it all apart out of curiosity...measured the inducer and exducer of both wheels, and its with in a half a mm of the specs on a gt35r, which is also the same compressor wheel as an sc61, t61, etc, etc. it has the same compressor wheel as any other 61mm turbo out there, and the exhaust wheel is identical to the garrett...ive never been in a b-series car that "lagged to all hell" with a gt35...and for what its worth, i start spooling around 3500 and have full boost (15psi) just after vtec hits, around 5200-5500 i would say. this thing is commonly thought to be a ton bigger than it is...its a 61mm .70/.84 turbo. not big or laggy by any means. at least not what im used to
