Ebay MBC's...experiences?
Does anyone have any experiences with the ebay MBC's?? This will juyst be a temporary thing for me, because I wont have the funds to buy an EBC buy the time my tuning date is. So I figured I'd buy one of the ebay ones for about 10 bucks just for now so I can get tuned...anyone have any experiences with them?
heres some links to a few of them...

I'm specifically looking into the last one...

I personally wouldn't buy anything as critical as a boost controller from ebay. Im sure it would work perfectly fine. But for my piece of mind i would invest in something else.

Re: Ebay MBC's...experiences? (1bar)
i don't think i agree. if its only temporary i would go ahead, but i think i would rather build one myself. im going to be doing the same thing until i can get ahold of an avcr. ill just make sure to watch my boost gauge closely. not saying you are wrong 1bar, but just for the low cost, and the little time it will be used i just can't convince myself to buy a more expensive one. (unless you can turn around and resell it for relatively the same price.) heres the link i am going to use to build my own. http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/mbc/mbc.php

i bought one from ebay. Had it for over a year and its been working great, holds boost constant. I also said it was going to be temporary, but its been on longer than expected since i havent had any issues with it.

See I just can't justify spending 50-75 bucks or so on a "brand name" MBC to use it for a couple hours. Once I leave the dyno and am tuned for the power i wanna make, I'm gonna take it out and run off the WG spring until I buy an EBC.

yeah, i agree w/ the other guys too...i use to have one and it ****** sucks...i had it for 8 months and worked fine at 14lb....right when i hit the dyno and turn up the boost, the damn mbc **** up on me...we spend more time messing w/ the mbc than dynoin & tuning the car...we were tryin to crank it up to 24 lb but it would only go up to 16lb....even if i lock the bolt all the way down, boost still wouldn't go up....now i went ahead and bought me a turboxs mbc....

huh?
Well I wont be cranking the boost up past about 12psi anyway...so I'm just gonna get one and see how it goes...like i said im only gonna use it for about 4 hours or so to get tuned...

Just buy a used TurboXS mbc and when your done with it, turn around and sell it for the same price you bought it for.
Like was said before, a mbc is a part that you don't want to go cheap on.

yeap, i figure that out the hard way...why spend so much money on your set-up and car and then go cheap w/ a mbc...if you gonna use it for only 4 hrs ,then why just borrow one off a friend...
