Re: Ebay intercooler (Dave_yd)
This has been discussed (I know the search is down right now). I have an intercooler that I bought off of egay. Does it work - yes, but does it work as good as the name brand IC's - no. For the money they're OK, but if you want something good your going to have to spend the bucks. They do work for budget setups.

Re: (Dave_yd)
I would think at that power level you would be running out of efficiency of the cheapo intercoolers. I know there are people on here that has done back to back tests on these against the name brand IC's - hopefully someone will chime in with power levels, boost levels, and IAT's comparisons.

I have one. I'm not looking to make super power so it worked for me plus it was 90 shipped. Made 234whp and 215tq on 10 psi using and Ebay intercooler.

shouldn't really matter, he's only making 234whp.
Max I'd use an ebay ic for is about 250whp. Especially the ex-powerstroke chop units.
tube/fin intercoolers run out of efficiency fast. They flow well, but won't cool the intake charge like a well designed bar and plate unit.

Yeah, a friend made 600+whp on that same one. I know MANY people running those cores making alot of power. It's aluminum, it's bar/plate, it works. The typical bar/plate vs duct/fin comes into play, but regardless they have been proven to support power.

Mine works fine too.The one in that link is the one I have too.Diffrent seller but I'm sure it's all from the same place in china
I don't know if I buy into the whole testing either.Testing on a dyno with a fan isn't going to yeild the same results as on the street.

I've gotten two (first one was kinda tiny) and both are fine, but as ppl have allready mensioned, it's not for a huge boost setup, i'm aiming for 300whp tops.
i paid $60 for mine and $80 shipping. this is for a built LS motor with a T3/T04E 54 trim.

Real good point about the value of the dollar. That would be a hell of a deal for a budget setup.
