Ive done a search for a few things and I know I have seen this in here but I must be blind today...

Im doing a low budget D series turbo install for my girl, all I care about is that the cold side of this kit fits perfect and it centers the intercooler. I know the hot side will be no where close to where it needs to be but I just really dont feel like buying this if im going to have to hackup/modifly the cold side piping. right now it is a 100% bone stock 97 ex automatic with a/c

That piping isn't even for a front mount. It looks like a replica of the piping that comes with the greddy kit that is designed to go through the hole behind the passenger side headlight. That being said, you may be able to put good use to the piece that is designed to go from the trottle body to that hole, and hack the rest up. Any piping kit will probaly have to be "hacked" up a little anyways.

yeah but for just under 300$ shipped I dont want to have to hack it up. If it is supposivly designed for a 96-00 civic one would think it would fit without mods. But yes I agree with you I dont see how those bends make it to the intercooler.
Anyone else?

These ebay things are never going to be 100% perfect fit, especially if your piecing your kit together. Your going to have to do some sort of hacking to fit your hot side on, it always depends on your setup! i would say either buy this and do little bits of cutting here and there to make it fit, or piece your own together, but that requires welding or lots of couplers.

The cold side of the charge pipes should be the same on all 96-00 d16y8 civics, the hot side would be different. The turbosetup has nothing to do from the TB to the intercooler. I said the hot side (of the charge pipes) i know I have to make/hack.

the only problems i've ever heard about is crappy fitment and some pretty scat welding.....no problems other than that though....seems like they work

I would recommend that piping. It's cheap, all aluminum, and fit great. No need to hack up anything, and goes great with my cheapo ebay intercooler.

The only potential issue I see w/ the ebay piping kits are that the piping doesn't have a bead on the end to help keep the couplers from blowing off.

They do in the picture above.

I'm not a fan though. I wouldn't purchase premade pipes, because you are most likely going to have to cut and weld them anyways, might as well buy mandrel bends and save a bunch of cash.

not worried about poping off, I have plenty of extra good t bolts laying around even though they are bead rolled.


Anyone with any actually hands on experance with these?

That piping is only 2" - 2 1/4". I think the best piping on Ebay is from Treadstone.

the SRE piping for the integra is 2" to the intercooler, and 2.5" to the throttle body. A lot of turbos aren't even 2" outlet anyway...would it really make a difference? I don't think it would make much difference. It may even give you better throttle response with the smaller tubing there.

I could care less about piping size its a t25 turbo on a automatic ex lol smaller the better if anything

I actually own the piping I posted. It fits great. I would get the piping that I posted with a $100 intercooler, and then spend a little bit on some good couplers and clamps. Even then you're still under the $300 auction you posted and the piping will actually fit.
