It had something to do with the bolts in the end of them. They switched to ARP bolts and everything is supposedly peachy now.

The old bolts were a 5/16" diameter, the new bolts are 3/8" diameter. This change has made the rods much stronger for an overseas made rod.

I haven't had any problems with the 5/16" ARP's yet. I built the engine about 2 1/2 years ago.

I talked to Eagle on this awhile ago. They said there was no prob with the old ones. They said becuase of bench racers on here spreading the false info that they decided to upgrade to help the sales get back on track.

I ran them in 2 motors with no probs.

Never heard of the recal before, used a set of the 5/16 on an old set up with no problem and now using set on a build with the 3/8 bolts in an h22 can't wait! will start today you have probably seen the post on the build under BigBlock!!!

No way in hell a manufacturer is going to change their COMPLETE rod line because of a couple of bench racers thoughts. Eagle tech help is useless. Prove me wrong, Eagle.

How many have you personally built that you can garuntee were set up correctly and broke?
not going by what whomever said or what you saw. Just what you built?

If their sales were down because of %90 of the big time Honda tuners are on here and see the bad repping. Yes their sales would go down. Yes they made a smart move and upgraded so no one else has anything to say now
I can just tell you I ran them on 2 motors with no flaw. One even detonated bad and nothing wrong with the rods them selves.

To change their whole line though? No , they already made them, just offered as an upgrade just as Pauter did.
So they really only made it a standard option instead of a choice it looks like.

I'm going to have to agree with itr206 on this one. With 165,000 current members on Honda-Tech I do believe a company may change their product slightly because of what members of this community want. In fact, alot of manufacturers have come on here just to guage an interest in a product to see if it's worth making and if it would sell. Why wouldn't they change an existing product to gain more sales?

yea but what are you guys revving to?

the reason they switched was because at high rpm's the old thinner bolts would stretch and spin some of those things called bearings underneath em

My buddy ran Eagles in his 4g63 DSM motor and snapped all four rods..

He was running a GT30R at about 28psi and a 150shot of nitrous.
He said the car was properly tuned. The car was ALWAYS ran on C16, Nothing less.
He was on the highway and did alittle 3rd gear kickdown and this is what happened......

Its touch and go. If you sell them you praise them, if you dont then you praise something else.
I personally havent had problems and dont believe the **** talk.
