Default eagle rods quick question?

ok the is a guy who has some eagle ls pistons for a turbo setup but he says that the length of the rods are longer to turn the ls stroke into a R/S ratio of a gsr. now the question is will that work for me? and what the purpose of changing the stroke of the Ls?

thanx

Maybe what he is saying is that he is using GSR rods and a GSR crank in a LS block???

I think without saying it in words, he's telling us he's stoned out of his mind, ****-*** drunk, or has been taking his grandma's medication again.

LS rods are used with a LS crank. GSR rods are used with a GSR crank. Stokes are different, as well as bearing width, so they are NOT interchangable.

this is whta he told me
"well first off, you would need pistons made for the rods if you didnt have a set already... most companies make them.. basically the advantage is the better rod/stroke ratio. so you are keeping the bigger stroke of a ls, 89mm, but getthing the R/S ratio of the gsr engine, so you can safely rev higher. make sense?"

I think everyone that's answered is stoned.
Looks like no one understood what the OP meant.
It's clear as light.

Longer rods give you a better R/S ratio yes.
The guy selling the rods probably had eagle make longer rods for use in his LS block so that he could have an R/S ratio similar to a GSR block.
Yes you will need some custom pistons made, otherwise you'll have pistons hitting the head.

your probly better off just buying a new set yourself, so you wont need custom pistons made. or find out the exact spec of the rod and see what piston availability is out there for that rod.

he might be talking about the Eagle CRS5531A3D rods
they are 5.531" length, compared to stock LS which are 5.394"
Rod journals are sized for B18A/B and B20.

using the LS crank you could probably just get some custom pistons made with a higher piston pin height. we are only talking about 0.137" (3.48mm) difference in rod length.

stock R/S ratio i believe would be 1.539
where with the long rods it would be 1.5785
