I say keep stock crank. Im over 400 on stock crank.. and you can still rev to 9K. and the stock crank is forged anyway

the ad is from titan motorsports, im sure they are legit. honestly, the eagle cranks arent that bad. i know of two getting the hell run out of them on a daily basis and they seem to be holding up just fine. its just like any aftermarket part, if enough are out there, someone is going to screw something up and blame it on the part.

so why use a eagle crank when you can use a proven OEM crank?

just for availability or lack thereof of a stock unmolested crank.

If you look around, I know ONE guy has - out of how many 800whp cars. And IIRC it was at a less than 300whp.

FWIW I recall people claiming that eagle cranks are sometimes out of spec as far as roundness and whatnot when it comes to what Honda demands. I think the records speak for themselves though...there are countless OEM cranks hitting 400+ and there are less of them snapped than a low-production Eagle...

but why chance it? yea it may be okay but they do break. alot better odds with oem crank.

Yup, imagine every honda B-series out there came with an OEM crank.. Thousands of boosted B-series cranks and I can't even remembered seeing a broken OEM crank.

Somehow, with such low volume, we can see quite a number of broken Eagle cranks. There is DEFINITELY something wrong with them and I considered them forbidden parts.

It is at the point that even a "molested" OEM crank fairs a better chance against a new Eagle Crank...

For one the motor came with it when i bought it so I said screw it let it ride. it wasn't a stroker crank, just a stock replacement one.

when u look at it that way that's a very good point. for being a part that isn't very common people mention a lot of failures in them. luckily for me i didn't have that experience.

I too remember a guy saying he had broken an OEM crank... iirc he had purchased some jdm motor from an online site, and when he started it up the crank was broken.

i'd never use anything but a stock crank,

#broken stock honda cranks:total number of stock honda cranks <<<<<<< #broken eagles:total number of eagles

When I started my build over a year ago I asked my guy about the Eagle crank, and he told me they have a habbit or snapping just like the one in the pic above, I then asked what we should do, and he told me his ef, and pro-am cars both have stock cranks in them with over 700hp in each one. Ide say stick with OEM one for cost, and 2 for proven reliability out of them.
