E85 questions
Ok so I have a 99 si with the original b16 recently built (pistons, rods, block gaurd) and also a full valve train.
I was wanting to run e85 and after calling cft they confused me more then already was. They recommended 1680 injectors and dual fuel pumps.
My question is what companys offer 1680s and how does the dual pumps work. I have one walbro 255 and cft said I need another. So do I get one just like the one I have or is there a special external one I need. And they also mentioned bosch 044s. Which should I go with?

Re: E85 questions
on an na motor, you wont get the full benefit therefore there isnt much point
not to mention you cant run e85 on a stock obd2 ecu as theres no way to compensate for the added fuel e85 requires

Re: E85 questions
its not sleeved just .040 over
my original goals were 450 because my buddy has a dyno sheet on his teg that says 422 so I just wanted braggin rights, but CFT told me Im easily lookin in the 500 range.
Then today they said on e85 I can look towards 600 but without sleeves wouldnt push my luck and gony more then that.
So im gonna let them tune it when the builds done and what ever it gets it gets.
but I wanna run e85 and just need advice on the fuel pumps and also a good named brand for 1680 injctors

Re: E85 questions
I'd go for a set of ID1600's as I know 1000s will max out between 5-600 on E85, sorry can't help you on the pump as I don't have exp at that power level but I'm sure someone else will know.

Re: E85 questions
We just made 500HP on E85 @ 20 PSI with a new Aeromotive drop in pump and FIC 2150s.. not out of fuel yet, gonna turn it up a bit more soon.
This is on our mustang dyno. Thats like 560-570 on a dynojet with a single drop in fuel pump. You don't need twin pumps to max out your sleeves ;P

Re: E85 questions
Exactly...the old Walbro's only do 240...I've seen a 300 on the net, but not in person yet. The Aeromotive is probably a larger LPH pump. Most E85 setups usually use minimum of 2 pumps.

Re: E85 questions
My friend had a built GSR with a Precision 6262 that made 543whp @ 18psi on E85 before he started running out of fuel with a single Walbro255. I would run both a Walbro and an inline Bosh044 (another brand will work also) just to be on the safe side.

Re: E85 questions
Many people fail to add up the cost of running dual Bosch 044's, by the time you sump the tank, buy the fittings/line and the filters your in close to $1000 if not more and its way overkill for most setups.
Intank 255 to Inline 044 or dual 255's and a set of ID1000's will suit you just fine.
I ran an Intank 255 to Inline 255 with RC1000's, AEM Rail and Reg and made 585hp on a dpack on E85, so rougly 530 on a djet.

Re: E85 questions
A good single is the way to go.. I've seens too many times where one pump in a dual pump setup fails and you end up melting somthing.. If your on a good solid stand alone that has fuel pressure monitoring and lean protection, then sure.. Otherwise just get a good single pump setup that suites your fuel requirements.
