E85 question
Yes, it does take more fuel to make the same power as gasoline. What makes Ethanol so attractive besides price is that it has cooling properties not found in other race fuels. If you think of it the whole point of using race fuels with higher octane is to control the timing of the combustion happening in our engines. Even if you are not using the E85 to it's potential the comfort of having added safety outweighs cost if there even is any. Many ppl have near the same mpg as 93 octane on a n/a or turbo honda running e85. The b-series engine is one of the most efficient engines so with good street tune the mpg wont be as bad as most would think. 1000cc injectors with the walbro intank will support 300-400 or even higher depending on the efficiency of your setup. Run a thicker than stock gauge power wire to the fuel pump on a relay for more fuel pressure.
Best thing to do is ask ppl who actually run e85 as the negative criticism comes from those who do not even run e85 in a race car or daily driver or may have had bad experience due to other reasons besides the fuel.

So yes.. its subjective and will continue to be a debatable topic on many forums, but the negatives are not simply from people that "hate on" E85 for no other reason than its existance.
As far as dd goes I have other vehicles I can drive. The inconsistency of e85 is something that does concern me. If I run pump gas none of stations here have 93 for some reason so would be stuck on 91

That's because of where you live... Past a certain point west there is no 93... Only 91. And e85 is very inconsistent so unless you have an ethanol content sensor you're never going to really have a safe tune on e85
Stick to 91

It's called be smarter than your fuel. I am so sick of these pathetic threads. If you don't have the money to run higher horsepower, let alone daily, then maybe you should rethink your setup.
If you want to run E85 - have multiple tunes (and means to switch them on the spot) and a tester/analyzer. This and/or means of increasing the ethonal content.
If you want to run pump gas - you *should* have multiple tunes anyways. You never know when that last gas station around might have problems/run out of premium fuel. If your octane is limited, get a good water/Meth setup to help compensate.
It's all just pure laziness of people that prevents cars from being exceptional.

its funny how people fight back if forth about e85 vs gasoline.. it really isnt that serious..gasoline is junk and it always will be junk unless we get some old **** from back in the day lol..People always talk about how inconsistant e85 is..it really isnt. I tell people u think everytime u pull up to the pump and get 93oct its gonna be 93oct. no its not..They have sites you can go to and see when most places switch to there winter blends, if u dont trust the site, just test the fuel yourself around winter months. For a street car set up, i wouldnt be tuning the car to the edge anyways to worried about how inconsistant e85 is. I run e85 in my set up, since ive been running i think i checked the fuel once. never had a problem.I do make sure i throw a bottle of lucas lubricant in there.

I think this thread (like the other E85 vs Gasoline fuels) should go ahead and die now, as there will never be a definitive answer. Good luck to everyone.
