Default Dyno Results: Damn Crazy Automatic...

sorry i got no pic... no scanner or anything... BUT here's what i noticed when comparing it to a manual with similar mods.

I make tons of power at lower speeds and at higher speeds i start to lose power... and make less than the manual. Up til about 70mph, I have the manual OWNED as far as power at the wheels, then the manual takes over. Making 160 at 110mph vs my 152.8.

Also my AF Ratio leans out to about 13 after 5500 rpm... they told me to increase my fuel pressure cuz thats dangerous... despite the fact that i have never heard a ping or anything... prior to that its chilling at about 13.5 - 14. Its not too bad for what it is... I guess... the manual with same mods + a header only outdoes my peak by like 7.2 whp...

...actually, from your post it sounds like your A/F ratio is getting richer if it is going from 13.5 to 13?!?

in full street trim i ran a 14.6 without a header, so i'd probably run that right now... with these numbers. (cuz i dont have a header anymore, stock)

my bad yeah... i misunderstood cuz oscar jackson was tellin me to raise my fuel pressure... why i want that when its already richer? I guess he just wants it to be safer???

From what I've read and seen and running... an A/F ratio of 12.5 with boost is ideal, but it is really dependant upon the car. A leaner ratio (higher than 12.5) will start to give you a little more power, but will increase your chances of detonation. A richer ratio (lower than 12.5) will generally reduce your hp some, but will help prevent detonation. Remember all this is dependant upon you particular car as each car will react differently. The goal is really to prevent/reduce the chances of detonation. Not to complicate things, but your ignition timing also plays a big role in detonation.

If I were you I would try to get your boost A/F ratio anywhere between 12.0 to 13.0 - just listen for detonation.

yeah, im running stock ignition timing and i've been running this AF ratio for some time now with not a single ping, so i'll leave it as is, maybe up the pressure a lil to be safer.
