Default DYNO: GT40r H22 and GT28r D16

H22
Full-Race H22 Top Mount Kit
GT40r
3 Inch Exhaust and Downpipe
Stock Cams (crower turbo cams lost almost 70 horsepower)
Stock Head w/ Springs/Retainers
AEM EMS
T1 Cam trigger kit with custom bracket
GE Intake Manifold
Precision IC
Aeromotive A1000
Precision 1600cc Injectors

Tuned here @ Tempest Racing by Brad Brooks

super conservative on timing, boost was roughly 30psi

Stock SOHC D16
Stock Intake Manifold
Kteller 3 inch exhaust (this took longer to modify and make work than it would have taken me to make my own from scratch)
AFI Turbo Kit
GT28r
9psi wastegate spring will only hold 11psi w/ 44mm gate.
walbro pump
rc550cc injectors
3bar map sensor
Hondata S100

car probably needs a couple more degree's of timing to smooth it out, but sohc head gaskets scare me

unfortunatly due to this exhaust manifold not holding boost, this is the LEAST amount of power the car can make.

waiting to hear back from the customer to see if he wants to do a gasket and some studs....hopefully pistons and rods. it obviously has the potential to make some good power....but unfortunatly it wont make any less

Boost creep with a 44mm gate on a GT28? Sure there's not a problem somewhere?

the only other thing could be if the incorrect spring is in the gate, however it holds 9psi the spring its suposed to be for a little bit then climbs.

there is nothing else in the equation, the wasetgate is going directly to the intake manifold (no port on the turbo) flange/runner/gate fitment looking at the manifold from the inside left a lot to be desired.

i'd like to try a smaller gate spring or atleast pop the spring out to see what it really is, just waiting to hear back from the customer to see what he wants to do first. probably have to take the intercooler off to get to the gate, so if he does want to do studs or a gasket or something i can just knock it out at the same time.

i'll post back with an update. i only made 2 full pulls on it and called it quits untill i see what he wants to do.

Any pics?

If it's holding 9psi towards redline then going to 11, it's probably just slight boost creep, and will probably be fine with a smaller spring.

Yeah, that's A LOT more turbo and quite a bit less wastegate. I'd expect a little bit of creep with that setup, not this one.

did you have any problems with the crower cams, besides not making power?

Thanks Joe real happy so far with the #'s. Can't wait till the studs and gasket are in....hopefully nothing else comes up.

Sorry to hear that about the K-teller, Bret told me it had to be cut up a bunch of times to fit. They should give me some money back or something for the sorry fit.

Looks as if the power was still climbing but they shut it down just shy of 8000rpm

lol, yeah, isn't a 40r supposed to make closer to 750whp?

I love the internet...

I dunno, seems feasable... i recently dyno'd 250whp@10psi w/ a hybrid 50trim turbo. SAE corrected.

lol the sohc numbers look high and the h22 numbers look low. on the same dyno one car dynoed right after the other.

i would be curious to keep going with the boost on the h22...i bet it would probably only make a few more lbs before it couldnt produce anymore. 650-675 maybe or 850

i dont remember the specifics on the h22, i know its sleeved with wiseco pistons and either crower or manely rods...i want to say manley.

Does that say 625 hp from the H? That IS low for almost 30psi with a GT40r. Not to boast but mine makes 680 @ 28psi with a T4/T67. I guess I'm just that good! I need more boost!!! Joe, what do you think about slapping a 42r on mine with 28psi? Would the 42r fit with the manifold I have?
