Why would your correction factors be less than 1 when it's pretty much the same temperature the entire year. If I dyno'd a car RIGHT now...while it's snowing and 30 degrees outside...it would be less than 1...but how often is someone going to Dyno a Car when it sucks this bad outside.</TD></TR></TABLE>
ill be humble, but you might want to rethink what you've stated.
i snapped a picture just so you now know...

its only the same temperature all year in Mase's climate controlled dyno hiatus
Jax isnt Chicago cold, but temp and humidity swings quite a bit around here day-to-day, lol
most of the time the CF is under 1 from Oct to March
but here in Doooval, it can be like 85F one day, and freaking 45F the next day
saturday's correction factors were 1.01(first time it was over 1 for awhile, yesterday it was .96)
off topic: Mase, WTF were you doing up at 10:25AM?? LOL

Here's a messed up dyno number story.
Last year, right after I was finished building my LSVTEC and breaking it in on a street tune by John (93turbo16), I attended a dyno day competition at a local shop, Dynamic Motorsports in Dillsburg, PA.
There, on nothing but a rough street tune, I laid down 192whp SAE corrected.
Then, maybe 3 weeks later I went to the dyno 93turbo16 uses. The baseline was made with no changes since the 192whp pass.
The baseline turned out only 171whp!
Simply going across town netted that large of a change.
Eventually, we got the motor to turn 195whp on 93turbo16's dyno.
I'm anxious to see what the engine would lay down at Dynamic's dyno.

From what john tells me that dyno he uses likes to read mad low.

What i always tell my customers if if you start out on one dyno, keep using it. dont go from dyno to dyno looking for a better deal on tuning or pulls, or hourly rate. i always give deals to my return customers.
by using the same dyno over and over it takes out any of the "fudge factors" or inconsistencies of different dynos.
i hate when i get a guy that says: " well my car made 200 at so and so's dyno, and here it only made 195...WTF??"
so just make sure you go back to the same dyno over and over, i use to trailer my car 500 miles to the old dyno i use to go to in tampa, till i got my own

I definitley agree. D-rob's car has always been tuned on the dyno that I use, he just went to a dyno day before I got to it on my dyno just with a street tune.
It really doesn't matter what the dyno says, as long as it is consistant and doesn't read like a moped was on there, I can deal with it.

You make a good point. I guess sticking to one dyno makes the numbers a lot more consistent. The only reason I went to inline just recently was to get the 3bar map installed (they are located closer to my house). Ill try to stick to one then.
Either way, it's not a terribly big deal. A baseline is a baseline, whether it reads 200 or 150. That's your starting point, as long as your tuning results in better numbers overall then you should be happy.
However, I think this post really drives home just how useless comparing dyno numbers are unless they're from the exact same dyno.
Trap speeds FTW.

yeah diddo on the trap speeds. A quote from somebody famous " wether you win by an inch or a mile..... winning is winning"............
