Default dying problems

when the car is cold, runs perfectly fine. once it is warmed up, i will put it in neutral to coast to a stop and the oil light will flicker and die. if i keep my foot on the gas it wont die. i know that the return like is made of silicone and i have heard that its bad for oil and i know its leaking from there. since i know that, would it be bad to temporarily use heater hose until i can get my hands on some steel braided hose or some transmission oil cooler hose?
