Re: A DSM w/intercooler....stock exhaust?! (LowGSR01)
Back when I had a job, I worked with a guy who was into showing his EG hatch. It had custom interior, shaved this and that, CF hood, 18" wheels, color scheme and whatnot. Anyway, I noticed he had a huge fmic and asked him about it.
"Yah, it's a built GSR motor with a custom turbo, blah blah..."
Upon closer inspection I noticed the endtanks of the i/c weren't hooked up to anything, and at a show I noticed that he kept his hood closed. Turns out it was a stock CX engine, and I assume the fmic was for show

I did that for a while..drove around with stock exhaust..the exhaust doen't make that much of a difference at all..and the stock exhaust is quiet to boot.
It' doesn't help that much really...for a DSM the best upgrade is to a bigger dp and a straight pipe and of course an intake..

Are you kidding me? A Catback upgrade is usually one of the first things to be done. I would NEVER upgrade the downpipe and the cat or testpipe without first having a catback upgrade. Work from the outside-in man.

3" mandrell bent piping mated to a gutted stock muffler. Sleeper city. Seen it at Capital race way here in MD. Well it looks sleeper....sound on there other hand
Later.
