DSM blue tops VS black tops???
Im wondering if anyone can tell me the diffrence. A friend of mine is getting rid of her black tops from her second gen GST and I can pick em up for $30, but I dont know a whole lot about the black tops. All I ever hear about are the blues, whats the diffrence, how much do they flow, etc?

Blue/black should both be th 450s. Low impedence and Peak/hold... so they need a resistor pack. They fit into obd0 and obd1 honda injector clips (obd1 with slight modding) and they fit stock seals if you ream them out a hair.
Great injectors for the price. You also can then call on any DSM based injector down the road for your setup... and I've found that used DSM guy stuff tends to be cheaper by a hair.... anything new is $$ though of course

They make 450cc black tops, would come off of manual transmission turbo car, would have 450 printed on the plastic near the plug.
The difference would be the blue tops flow 450cc/min, where the black tops only flow 450cc/min.

Re: DSM blue tops VS black tops??? (beerbongskickass)
On a side note.. i just went from a set of blue top 450s to the reddish top evo8 560s... and with a little fuel adjustment they are running great Has anyone noticed the difference in injector style also?
Blue top looks to be pintle style, the evo8s have 4 holes and are another (can't remember name) style... what format are the black top 450s?
(unsure if its just my *** dyno being off... but I noticed a difference in idle strength and normal running with the 560s... better atomization?)

Good to know. I've only seen pictures of the black tops' numbers, and the way the plastic is formed it's obvious they aren't the exact same construction.

For all intents and purposes... they might have different deadtimes (how long it takes the injector to open so it starts flowing) which would make them need tiny tiny tiny changes in injector pulsewidth to flow the same fuel, but both flow 450cc/min and are good for the same peak power level.

Re: DSM blue tops VS black tops??? (splitime)
Im using the black tops (2nd gen DSM)...they have a dual pintle design...a dual spray pattern if you will...for better fuel atomization. They work great. That is the only REAL difference....oh ya that and the tops are black and not that shitty blue.
I like mine mucho.

It would seem that way, but DSMs weren't designed logically... otherwise, the 2G 4G63 would be as or more stout than the 1G... sadly, it's a crankwalkfest at power levels that leave those heavy cars quick but not fast.
