Well, Jon needs to get that *** in gear. I feel for everybody involved.

However, I'm wondering if the quality concerns everyone bitches about aren't just sour grapes... all the pics I've seen of his work, *when* he does some (sorry, Jon, it's true), is of a high standard. I think people need to post up pictures before I believe that he turns out crap.

Uh, they are log manifolds, bro. Log manifolds aren't meant to flow, they are a plenum for collecting pressure in. It's referred to as a constant pressure design. Dropshop manifold, &lt;insert brand name here&gt; "quality" log manifold, or a $2 piece of 14" long 1"X2" RHS mild steel with some holes drilled in it and the ends capped - it doesn't matter. I guarantee dynos within usual day to day variances for the same engine/turbo/boost/tune.

seemed that way to me too......

oh and i'll see if i can get some close up pics of the ic soon.
welds are ugly, endtanks arent the same size, one inlet is 1-2inches longer than the other, and where he cut the core, half the fins are still on the bottom and chewed up and ****.

Hmm, of all the posts on here, I think diy-racing wins the "i have the attitude of a 10 year old" award. I know of 4th graders that are more mature than you Del. First of all, I never said anything about Burke calling his cc company, i said he should have a receipt. And since you are no way shady, where is his manifold? After all, you sold it to him, so isnt it your responsibility? If you are going to argue and bitch, get your **** straight. If you even knew anything about running a business, you wouldnt sell something you werent sure was ever going to be done. As for me being an *******, thats your opinion. There are always 2 sides to every story. And on there being more negative shop stories--the internet is a small place. How many people that deal with the shop are active honda tech members? perhaps 10% if at all? Of all the posts on this thread, I havent seen anybody as crude or vulgar as you Del. It is just uncalled for. How do you deal with anything when you get this mad that easily? Burke-I do agree that you should get your manifold, I have not been arguing that you should not get it. If you are dissapointed with the intercooler, I'd bring it up with the person who sold it to you. Perhaps they misrepresented it to you.

 

i had an understanding with Del. Only he and I know the exact terms. In the end, i bought an intercooler and manifold made the drop shop. The manifold was being finished, and i knew that and once it was finished it was supposed to get its way to me. I got the ic, sight unseen. and for what i paid, i am quite happy. its looks like it will be more than enough for my purposes and i am form over function kinda guy. but the quality is poor, no one will argue. i will take pictures
and for my dealings with Jon, he comes off like a nice, honest person. but the truth is he has LIED to me on multiple occasions.
I wouldnt want to be friends with a liar.

quite a few businesses out there like that. i often times feel the same way.

they can put on a front, hide behind a name etc. but in the end when they suck, do poor business or sell low quality products it will come out. and everyone will know how it really is, but in the meantime some will get screwed out of $$ or have to wait forever to get what they paid for. BTW i'm not saying that The Drop Shop is definantly one of those businesses, but it sure seems like it.

that ****** manifold is trash,, and the welds on the ****** intercooler is even more trash,,,, anybody get the idea here that gsxtacy is probably jons boy or something??? go to this "drop shop" and pistol whip him....i thought the drop shop was a hydrolic and truck shop??? i dont know

I test fitted it on my friend's GSR motor and seemed like I had to shave quite a bit from the block, so I am just going to mount it with the compressor on the driver's side.

 

Jon is a good guy and I know for a fact that he had to move the location of his shop right after that group buy went down. It took over three months to get everything secure at his new location while trying to do back orders in the process. He is a human being he can only do so much, leave the poor guy alone. You aren't happy with his work don't buy from him, end it at that. You guys act like this forum is life or death its not, you only get part of the story. It doesn't in anyway tell the whole truth. All people do is flame and bitch on this forum, all i did was say hi and i get flamed for five pages. Some honda owners are really winny. We are all human beings treat us like that

GraphiteAccord will have to post some pics tomorrow of the two manifolds he recieved. Retarded Jon sent him someone elses....and it wasn't even finished. So GA had to finish the welds, then turned around and sent it to the right guy. When GA did get the right manifold, it once again had unfinished welds. I would never do buisness with the shady shop given the experiences Joe went through with Jon.

 

DLOTYPER, come up here with your pistol or whatever you keep yammering about. Your post on here was pointless and did not help anything or anyone. Granted, the older manifolds such as the logs are not as nice in quality, but like any design, it just keeps on getting better with new versions. Also, in general, if there are unfinished welds on the outside, the area was probably welded from the inside.

well unfortunately, some of us believe that it is possible to get a good deal without blowing a ton of money. Look at sellers like kyle@ks-motorsports or Viren@vsracingparts or Paul Vang...There are others as well that give us great deals. Jon@the drop shop COULD have been one of them. We took a chance and lost...Granted, Jon had some crap to go through that wasn't his fault. But I myself have been waiting since Oct 2002 for my manifold, downpipe, dumptube. I've been paid in full since oct or nov 2002. I understand he had to collect new money for his shop, but you know, he has a responsibility to customer who have already paid. How would he be reacting to us if we all had our merchandise and he was waiting for 7-8 months to get payment for it all? I still believe that I will get quality work, but I'm very dissappointed in the way I've been treated. I have only tried to correspond with him about 6-7 times since oct 2002. That's less than once a month. I think that shows substantial patience given the situation. My last promise was the beginning of last week when I was told I would have my stuff shipped either yesterday or today. I sent an email yesterday but I will wait until next week to follow up with a phone call.

I will admit that I have on 3 separate occasions told Jon that I didn't mind being the last person since I knew I had a long way to go for my project. I knew that for others, this was their last pieces so I figured I'd be nice. But I think I've been patient enough.

You guys give Jon no way to respond without looking bad. Suggesting bad-mouthing him here will get stuff done sound pretty shady as well. I think it is called Libel (or is it slander?). But, I know desperate people do desperate things. I know I would be super pissed if I had to wait this long, but I wouldn't publicly rip on someone. Maybe its just me.

Remember, Jon is just starting this shop and online deals. He is new to the business and may be over his head. Running a business is no piece of cake so he needs some time to get into the groove. He should try and be honest with you though. Things come-up and accidents happen, but everyone has to take responsibility at one time or another.

I haven't dealt with Jon much, but we have met a few times. I'll be sure to mention this when I see him at the next CRX meet (N9). I am curious how he will respond.

well, I personally haven't bad mouthed him at all...I don't feel that's anyway to get things done either, but I am just as frustrated as those who are bad mouthing him. I think we all understand Jon's problems but at what point do you draw the line and say "what about me"? "what about my money lost investing in parts that I don't have"..
- I feel for Jon and as long as my stuff is the quality that I expect, I will back him as a good builder.

 

Why are you hiding jon?? Gsxtacy is jon. He is hiding. I know it is him. He mentioned something that me and jon had talked about.. This is ridiculous. Burke, keep calling, i am going to do the same. Monday morning im just going to start calling his local authorities and complain about him ripping me off. Then the BBB if he is even registered. Then ban him from Hybrids.jp, not that it matters. He even told me himself that hondatech doesnt mean **** to him. we will see how it goes.

well, jon did upgrade those who were continuing to wait. he is now making them SS tubular designs rather than log. They look and hopefully flow much better than the original design.
