Default The Drop Shop DOESNT SUCK!!!!

Just got my mani yesterday. it looks pretty good! and everything lines up with the wastegate and turbo. it also has those pretty tig welds. I'll post some pics if you all want
Jon was very apoligetic and he has made things more than right. He even hooked me up with Uberchip with an awesome map. He showed me some new ic's he is making and they look pretty nice. dimemsions are (i think) 32x6x3. I am gonna pick up a couple. i just wish i woulh have known in the first place, i wouldnt have had to cut 2 inches out of my bumper support
well thanks for the help everyone. my project is nearing its end, i just gotta make me a downpipe and finish the exhaust! i will post some pics of everything in another post tonight
Again thanks the support and help everyone

I always loved the Drop Shop and it is nice to hear great things about them from other people. Jon is a great guy, and is process of building my new motor. Now it looks like I'll be buying his intercooler as well.

The intercooler looks very cheaply built - i don't like the welds or the shape of the endtanks at all

Take some closeups of the welds then, cause that is what I thought when I saw the pics.

ok
as you can see by the above comaprison of the same weld
the flash REFLECTS OFF the aluminum and makes the welds
look different
that one is from very close up
now what i want to know is how on earth you guys know what the welds on the other ic's look like (from 3-4 feet away @ that )
givent the proven fact that the flash distorts it

is this the same guy from a thread from a while back?? private matters deal through e-mail.. and he isn't blake, but he is going to HELP YOU not because he has to, because he's NICE and you should APPRECIATE his help. I sure as hell would. Either way i appreciate your help, even if the paying people dont. Though i do agree that not having your product returned in a timely matter does suck, it doesen't mean you should take it out on the good (better?) guys....

Jon,

Are you bringing any of this stuff to N9? I love seeing your setups in person.

Hey, I got a ton of those M10-1.25 x30 bolts left. Are you interested?

Johns welds look great the the intercooler is a great price. I'm Not sure why people feel the need to bash everything that is out there. Turbopanda can you make and intercooler that looks nicer for a better price? Not everyone wants a $1100 manifold and a $600 intercooler. Untill you have some of Johns stuff and have proven that it won't work... Keep it to yourself. Oh and please do tell, why is that a bad entank design.. I know it must be much worse than all the square ones out there.

actually, my fluid dynamics tells me that that endtank design for that car above really isnt that bad. The speed of the turbulent flow through that and the angle at which it enters really isnt bad at all. those angles actually promote better flow than a square ended tank.
so, unless you are a mechanical engineer, and have taken at least one course in fluid dynamics..........

edit:
oh yea, ITS ONLY $300!!! find a better performing, larger ic for that price.

what a bunch of ******* boners. IC looks great for $300, as do the welds. Don't see how anyone could make such a critical comment anyway w/o seeing a freakin closeup first.

Give it up, the Honda-Tech fucktard brigade will post what they damn well KNOW is the truth, regardless of whether or not they actually know wtf they are talking about. They must be right - they have all their friends with no skills or talents backing them up.

I'm not the biggest fan of how the Dropshop's group buy went down, but I love how people love to dogpile on him over **** that isn't even real. Criticise him for the things he's done wrong... it's called customer feedback... either he gets with it and it shows, or he doesn't. Running your mouth about QC issues that you fabricated from a picture taken across the room in blurry detail of some miniscule **** that you couldn't see at that distance even if the picture was perfect... worthless ******* bitch bitch bitch moan moan moan my ***** hurts

Pretty bad undercut welds on the manifold in those pictures. Lots of craters too. Use more filler and break off the arc slowly.

Also, it looks like the inside of the welds are crystalizing since it is stainless. Are you back purging or at least using solar flux?

Man this place is a Joke. John I hope you stop selling on here soon.. I'm sick of hearing all the bitching. Tinker puts up pics of a manifold that you can't see the welds with a magnifying glass and everyone is all "good job, great welds" come on. I'm sure tinkers stuff is really nice.. From the detailed pictures I have seen it is great. So is John's..
