drag kits pass emissions test in Texas, near houston.
Next year or so I was planning on getting a drag turbo kit for my gsr engine in my 92 eg hb. I am just a little concerned that it may not pass. I was going to get the drag turbo, with a hondata system, I was gonna chip the p72 or should I just get a p28 to chip, then when emissions comes around i can switch back to stock ecu. Would this require a new tune? Sorry about not being too knowledgable. I already know that I probably have to reinstall my stock exhaust system.. is there anything else Id have to do to insure a pass on he emissions test? I kinda dont wanna get the turbo if I have to go through LOTS of trouble just to pass stupid emissions every year...

No. It's not hard to pass. When inspection time comes, you just have to swap in the stock ECU and stock inectors and run zero boost. Or if you have money you can always pay the smog people about $200 to pass you.

not in texas.. not anymore, not around here. Harris County(the county I live in) just did a HUGE investigation on all of these shops, took away lots of peoples liscenes, and now a lot of the shops turn in people who even act like they want a testless pass. so that is out of the question. But thanks a whole lot JRciv for your info. I kinda thought those were the answers, I just wanted to double check them.
