Default Downpipe from ONE Fabrication

I was just browsing around today and happened to come by this downpipe.

The ONE Downpipe

By the flick of a switch, you open the valve at the bottom of the downpipe and run on a 3" open downpipe setup. It seems that this would be very good for people who want to have the best of both worlds with a quite car and then be able to run openly at the track without problems.

WHat does everyone think of this design? I am curious to get one and test it out myself. One problem that might occur would be back pressure from the air bouncing off the closed valve.

How long does it last before the working mechanical pieces go bad? That is one problem I have heard.

And how well does it perform?

If anyone's ever tried this downpipe, let me know. Thanks.

It has been around for a long time. The most memorable on HT was probably CheezeFrog. It's a good setup though.

kinda pricey for a short pipe if you ask me. i''ve see the stuff to do it yourself for way cheaper.

I do not like the positioning of the dump. I believe the placement of the cut out in reference to the dump is going to provide a lot of turbulence.

Definatly an option, but for some people is somewhat out of reach to fab yourself, we are trying to offer a complete bolt on affair...

We can put the Dump anywhere you want it.
Im working on building something that dumps past the oil pan that still retains the stock cat.

this is what i am planning on switching to, as you can see, the exhaust flow is good for both open and closed. right i have it dumping up front and it causes two issues. first, as far as performance, the turbo inhales some of the exhaust . second, alot of the exhaust remains in the engine bay and makes everything dirty. anyways, just wanna throw out some other ideas. if you like the idea lemme know, i can test one out for you if you like. laters.

can't you just weld the tube outside twords the bumper, and put the cutout at the very end. Like a sideshot exhaust ?
