downpipe
i have a ls with a t3 turbo...stock block pushin 10 psi (boost spiking) i was wondeing about how long or short should i have "left" my downpipe...it had a custom 3 inch pipe pretty short...and loud...i couldnt stand it having neighbors complain about it being that loud (so i got it welded at a muffler shop a stright pipe with no cat no nothing from the down pipe all the way to the back ...now since i did that did i lose hp? since its a longer downpipe than compared to my short downpipe i had? people say the shorter the better...but..i coudlnt keep it like that cuz of complainin people next door

Agreed...the only hp decrease you might have is maybe a small unnoticable amount. In your case keeping your neibors happy was probably worth the little (if any) decrease in hp.
