Dowel Pin height?
i have a b16b that has been decked and the head has been machined for straightness.. would i need to shorten the height of the dowel pins in order for the head to seal properly.... since my head is leaking oil form between the head and block...right where the power steering is and from behind the head near the alternator... Thanks

Re: Dowel Pin height? (SiRkid)
i am not sure how much was machined off, i think just the bare minimum was machined but i just thought that this may cause a problem....

If the head has never been machined before and If you only took off a small amount I personally wouldn't worry about it, what headstuds or headbolts are you using and also what headgasket are you using?

Re: Dowel Pin height? (QCKGSR)
My head was recently surfaced. I filed off about half of that little lip on the end of of my dowel pins, and everything seals perfectly.
