it kind of sounds like a rod knock but i've been driving on it for WELL over 1,000 miles. just recently the head took a **** (when you would go into vtec, the head would make a horrible grinding and knocking noise - kind of like SUPER SUPER loud vtec, if you can imagine). i thought that was the issue all along, but now that i've put my other vtec head on, only the noise during vtec went away, so that means that the entire time i've driven this engine, its knocked. but if it was knocking, i'm pretty sure i would've thrown a rod already (done it 9, and maybe 10 times soon here if i keep driving this car) it was even tuned! if this motor blows i'm going to try it ONE LAST TIME and if it goes again, i'm turning domestic... 5.0 liter engines here i come!

if its not rod knock then i don't know what the **** else could be knocking to make that sound.
