Dont know what to do! So Stressed...
Ok, I origionally wanted a 95 GSR for easy power and OBD1. Then I wanted 4 Door for cheaper Insurance...
Then, I thought of a great idea! 95 LS Turbo, screw VTEC. Cheap car + cheap insurance... then I started comming here to research the whole turbo thing.. and its driving me nuts because it seems like I can only save money by buying an older LS (94 or 95)... but then they have lots of miles which is bad for Turbo
So if i resleeve the older LS or just spring for a newer LS... its gonna cost more money.
I am starting realize that one way or another the man is gonna screw me... i can't just drive a fast car
Any thoughts... opinions... suggestions???

Buy a Geo Metro. This way you will never feel the urge to go fast.
By the way, I hate these stupid threads.
Your money--Your decision.

just buy a 5.0. sure it doesn't solve your insurance problem, but a couple grand and you have yourself a really fast car.
Thanks so much guys! You totally put it in perspective... wow, I think im going to buy a Mustang 5.0, drop in a metro motor and put Nawz on it.
Maybe I posted this question at the wrong time of the day... ill have to wait for the smart ones to get home from thier jobs

Yeah, ur right, I was just wondering if anyone had a cost effective idea of how to do it... not necessarily cheap.
I just know that everyone says "if i could go back and do it again... i would buy ____ and do ____"
Thats the sort of answer i was looking for

go LS turbo. a few people on this board have turbocharged high mileage vehicles with no to few problems. just do regular maintenance and you should be fine.

if i could go back and do it again, i would not have bought an oil pressure and a fuel pressure guage thereby saving myself 350 bucks. i would have also got a rev-hard kit instead of the maxrev mani, dp, and turbo w/ drag piping i'm currently running because this actually cost me more. i would have also went with the aem ems instead of forking almost $1200 for a hondata 2b setup since i'm obd2 to begin with so i had to convert to obd1.
do alot of research. i really wish the old archives were still around because the old threads HELPED me so MUCH.

94-95 LS w/ high mileage, but find one in as best condition as possible. go turbo and keep things simple. if the motor blows screw it, u can get another one and u still havnt spent as much as if u bought a low mileage car.
yea that is so true, i'm not even done piecing my turbo kit yet but everytime i buy something, i end up selling it to go w/ a different setup or buy something else that's better. i was gunna boost my stock b16 but heard of inline-pro gaskets that lower compression, now i'm thinking about that. btw any suggestion on these gaskets?
Just wondering what your plight was...were you runnin an FMU to want the Fuel Pressure gauge? I'm only planning on A/F, Boost and EGT. I'm gonna be using dsm 450's and my own engine management, heh. I'm waiting on my O2 housing and then I'll be ready...anticipation killing...
ok i'll give it a shot:

actually i just got a little spend happy when ordering the guages
i should have just went egt and boost because that's all i ever look at .... oh well. hell, because of an oil leak with the oil feed line the oil pressure guage isn't even hooked up and i'm too lazy to re-route the lines and fittings on the block

You want fast...jump out of a plane
110+mph in 10 seconds! Look at that low mph. That's serious traction...er...uh...yeah
j/k
Seriously though, if money is a factor, mabye the f/i route isn't for you. Nothing is more discouraging then having a fast car that you can't drive because you can't afford to fix it when (not if) something breaks

its not that money is an issue, but I would (like anyone) like to keep the cost down.. Like I said, we all waste money by going in the wrong direction, backing up, and doing it the right way. I have not been down the forced induction road, and I was simply asking for some direction. Thanks
yea, I think the LS integra, 94-95 would be good for you. I suggest just being nice to it when you get a turbo though, since it will be a used car. check out your budget, and see how much you can afford
say, if you know you will spend 5 K on turbo and all, then your total budget minus the 5 K would be the amount you have to spend on your car. with tax, tags, and title....

Buy the cheapest 94-95 one you can find with a good body still and get a b20. Swap the engines and boost it and you have an extra motor to send out to get worked on and you still have a working car. You can find b20 long blocks for like 800.
