About $100 bucks at a counter type bone yard, maybe cheaper at a pull-your-part. Make sure the gears are nice and smooth with no restrictions. You will be able to pull and push the rod from end to the other with the rack off the car.

i'm converting mine right now. the cx rack cost me 75 bucks, but i had to buy some misc. parts from honda that the yard didn't provide (and most won't.) so all in all it was about 100 bucks. it was a fairly easy conversion (granted there's no engine in the car at the moment.) the hardest part was getting the rack aligned with the steering wheel... which took quite a few tries.

Also, the rack may be smaller in diameter so you may have to use larger rubber sleeves on the passenger side mounting point.

Re: doing away with power steering (downpipe)
he probably needed a larger splined U-joint that connects rack to column. I hate lokking for them and need another right now, if someone has one for sale you get 20bucks from me plus shipping.
