Default Does Turbo Pass Emissions??

This goes to all you guys who have turbo. I just wanted to know what problems you guys had with emissions. What you had to do to pass? other than paying off the inspectors.

Thanks

if you are obd2 as long as your cel isn't tripped and has no stored codes you can pass. i removed my 450cc inj and replaced them with my 240cc inj, disconnected the wg actuator from the wg so it would stay open, and trimmed my safc back to 0 correction, cleared the ecu and drove for 100 miles to ready the ecu and passed with flying colors. only took me 1.5 hours of work and 1.5 hours of driving. the 1.5 hours of driving was the most painful 100 miles ever...n/a d-16 suck.

if you are obd1 or obd0 you will have to pass a sniffer test. you may need to lean it out quite a bit to pass. i would crack open the wg so it doesn't boost too.

OK, so it really is a bitch to pass emissions with turbo isn't it?

There is no easy way is there?

Is it possible to route the wastegate to the downpipe, so it gets filtered by the cat?
could that possibly work?

I have a custom kit, with 450's, hondata, ect. All I did was put the stock exhaust + Cat, back on. When the tech was running it on the Dyno dhe did'nt even bring it into boost so it maintained a clean Air/Fuel. I remember looking at the exhaust and not seeing any Carbon.

Maybe its different in Ottawa, but we don't have visuals, at least he never said anything to me about the turbo except that it was MAD COOL . I passed with flying colours. Oh ya also if you have a motor in a car that never came with that model of car you can claim hotrod status and not have to worry about the emisions. Sweet deal, eh.
