Does something sound wrong with my engine? (Video)
NEW VIDEO ON PAGE 2
I have noticed that my engine has been sounding weird lately, almost like the noise you would expect to hear out of a helicopter lol. does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? as far as the head goes, i have a crower turbo cam with the valve springs and retainers. you can hear the sound best when the camera pans over to the valve cover. let me know if you have any ideas. thanks.

yea i adjusted the valves to the specs specified by crower.

put a long extension on one of your injectors clips and put the other end kind of in your ear and see if the sound isn't just your injectors. Does it make this sound all the time or only when cold/warm?
i think it might be the injectors since they are only 310cc and i have been pushing them close to 100% duty cycle. i tried to tell where the noise was coming from and it is defeniatly coming from the left side of the bay near the injectors and not the timing belt. and this just started recently, so its not like its a bad valve adjustment cause it was fine before when we adjusted it. so would it make sense that if the injectors went bad, that they would be making a noise like this? guess its time to upgrade my injectors...
Did this happen after a hard run or regular driving? Does the sound get faster as the revs go up? It sounds like a rod bearing. I thought my friends was loose valves and told him to adjust them. A week later a rod adjusted itself out of the block.
not quite sure when it exactly started, but its been like this for a good 2-3 weeks. i cant really hear it over the engine when the car gets going, its mostly noticeable when idling or when downshifting to slow down.
and if it was a problem with a rod or the engine, wouldnt that show when i do a compression test?

compression test wont do anything for bad bearings.
Safest way to tell if its your bearings is drop the pan, rod and crank caps, and inspect the bearings, look for scarring/blue discoloration. If your bearing has spun its only going to do more damage the longer you let it go and like stated above will end up throwing a rod and really f*cking **** up.
Of course if your inspect your bearings and they are all good then you have that peace of mind and it really isnt that hard to reinstall it all its just takes some time, tq everything to spec!
If it is a bad/spun bearing inspect the rod and crank for scarring, if it is scarred it will need to be fixed.

i should also add that my car is pulling alot of vacuum, but not all the time. sometimes when idling, it will pull between 18-14 in mg of vacuum at idle and other times it will only pull 21-19 in mg at idle. also, if it makes a difference, when i have it in gear and let off the throttle so it costs, it always holds a steady 21ish in mg of vacuum.

Interesting enough thats a cool sound.
Is that the dx d17?</TD></TR></TABLE>
its an lx with a vtec head swap
i am still set on it being the injectors due to the fact that it is coming from that area, but i would still like some more input on this.
