Default does nayone know anything about this turbo, or have you used it........

garret T3-60-1 with .63 AR

COMPRESSOR SPECS:T04S housing

flow: 61 lbs/min 781cfm

.70 A/R housing

60 TRIM wheel

TURBINE SPECS:T3

.63 A/R housing

HIGH FLOW 76 TRIM stg 3 wheel

has anyone had any experience with this turbo?? i think it would be much better than my moderate run of the mill T3/T4, any spool issues on a B16.... or any efficiency issues

I had one on my LS but it was to laggy for me so I got a t3/t04e 50-trim.

What are you looking for? Fun street car or a dyno queen that can only spin tires on the street?

The 60-1 turbo is a great turbo if you like your power ON/OFF and if you want a lot of it, but it all comes at a cost of spool up.
I First used this turbo on a stock gsr and it was fully spooled (15psi) at 5500rpm, than I took the same turbo and upgraded the exhaust housing to a .82 a/r from a .62 a/r and slapped it on a fully built b16a with 84.5mm bore, ported head and oversized valves and the spool up stayed about the same 16psi came in at 5700rpm.

The one thing I can say about this turbo is that when it kicks in it pulls hard as hell but for some reason up until the point to where you’re fully spooled up it’s a bit of a dog. Your car has to be tuned extremely well (pretty lean) on the low throttle map so it pulls decently till the turbo comes in.

I personally loved this turbo just because of the power it made once it finaaaaaaaaly spooled up.

funny.........but i was figuring if i match up the AR on the exhaust well enough with the output of the motor i should be okay, thats why i was looking at the .63 vice the 48 or 82, it cant be that much worse than a t3/t67 or sc61 as far as boost lag goes.....can it

well i would say the t3/60-1 falls in that category with the t3/t67 and sc61 as far as lag goes. may even be alittle more responsive.
if its something you are set on, it def makes nice power, with the right exhaust setup, spool shouldnt be all that bad...
stage 3/ .63a/r should get you to 15psi right around 5k.

I have nothing but love for the 60-1. I have the hifi 60-1 stage 5 exhaust wheel with a .63 AR.
Starts to spool around 4000. Which I see as a good thing.
1. since it takes a little while to spool, its easy to drive around town and stay out of boost to save on gas
2. the car gets a rolling start before boost kicks in
3. Honda's kinda like top end power

On a EXTREMELY hot dyno day, the turbo helped (its not the only factor when considering power) produce nearly 540hp and 400ft lbs.

ha. I got your dyno queen. With limited track time:
12.4 @118 pump
11.87@128 race fuel

Both times on street tires with no weight reduction in a 95 teg.... I don't know about you, but to me, that is pretty fun on the street and/or track.

HIFI 60-1. .63AR with stage 5 exhaust side.

Yeah, I'm sure if hit it at full boost in first and second, traction would be nill. However, if I run low boost in first-second. Then... flip the electronic boost controler to high boost in third-fourth. Its kinda like a traction control system. The 225/50 BFG drag radials help ALOT too.

roght now im running 11s with a nitrous powered gsr in an EG hatch, i am swapping the motor out of my 99 si (a built, turbo'd B16 with goodies) into the hatch, and wanted to swap the turbo out.

i have alot of suspension NOW and have made alot of mods and went with bigger slicks so im not too worried about traction (AVCR) just wanted more power...........

where can i get info and pics on the HIFI model

well my turbo motor makes right at 320 on 12psi, and i know im below that on the NOS-gsr, now i have just installed a 20 shot onthe turbo motor, and i gained just over 60 hp so somewhere close to 400, plus im not all the way tuned, just a little mod'd base rom, i can get more with the gsr cams, new I/M, and new turbo manifold as well, so im figuring i should make just over 400HP
